- Start the server and wait for the console to report the world is loaded.
- In Valheim: Start Game → choose a character → Join Game → Add Server, then enter your IP:port.
- Enter the server password. It is generated for you and shown on the Startup page as
PASSWORD.
Rules Valheim enforces: the password must be at least 5 characters and must not contain the server name.
Vanilla servers have crossplay on (Steam and Xbox/Game Pass). When crossplay is enabled, the console prints a join code that friends can use. Valheim allows up to 10 players per server.
